GRODNO Illuminates the Royal Castle Donation Box

GRODNO Illuminates the Royal Castle Donation Box

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the reconstruction of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, GRODNO had the honor of illuminating one of its most meaningful symbols: the historic donation box.

This iconic object stands as a tribute to the generosity, unity, and patriotism of the Polish people - who, after the devastation of war, came together to rebuild a national treasure from the ground up.

Our Professional Lighting Department developed a dedicated lighting concept that highlights the box’s historical and emotional significance, while respecting the character of the interior space.
Discreet and precisely focused, the illumination allows the story behind the donation box to shine - literally and symbolically.

We’re proud to have contributed to this moment of remembrance, honoring not just architecture, but the spirit of a nation.

But this was no standard task.

The donation box is located in a distant tower of the Castle, and illuminating it required an extremely narrow-beam fixture capable of highlighting the object without affecting its surroundings.
It was a technical challenge - exactly the kind our Professional Lighting Division thrives on.

Complex Needs. Clean Execution.

Our team developed a targeted lighting solution that brings focus to the box, ensuring it stands out with dignity - without overwhelming the historical architecture around it.

We also contributed to:

  • The lighting of the “Ikaria” sculpture by renowned artist Igor Mitoraj, adding visual depth and atmosphere to this dramatic piece

  • A fixture upgrade in the Castle’s main courtyard, further improving energy efficiency and consistency across the site

Every element of this project combined technical skill, sensitivity to heritage, and attention to visual impact.
We’re proud to support this important cultural institution - and to once again prove that GRODNO delivers, even when the expectations are sky-high.

Our Professional Lighting Division completed a standout lighting project for the National Museum of Technology in Warsaw, supporting the permanent exhibition “Media of Our Times - The History of Radio and Television.”

The integrator, TRIAS, entrusted us with a full design-and-build solution. GRODNO’s design team developed a comprehensive lighting concept that included:

  • General and emergency lighting - ensuring safety and visual comfort throughout the space

  • An advanced control system based on Philips Dynalite and DALI, allowing for precise light scene programming and single-button activation

  • Modern LED projectors with surface-mount adapters, seamlessly integrated with display cases

We’re proud that our solutions not only enhanced the exhibition’s visual impact but also improved its overall functionality.

Another example of how technology and design can work hand-in-hand to create spaces that inspire and educate.

Lighting the Masterpiece – GRODNO Illuminates Poland’s Only Van Gogh

Held at the John Paul II and Stefan Wyszyński Museum in Wilanów, the exhibition is both a cultural landmark and a technical challenge: how to present a world-renowned piece of art with the respect, care, and clarity it deserves.

That’s where GRODNO came in.
